Itinerary Intro
Zhangshu Trail in the Maokong area of Taipei is a gentle, family-friendly path that once served as a rural road. Now featuring ethnographic installations such as old charcoal kilns, tea gardens, pigsties, ox carts, and shuttered farmhouses, it offers visitors a nostalgic journey through local heritage. During the lupin flower season (January–February), the trail transforms into a golden floral tapestry. At about 1.1 km long and taking 30–40 minutes to complete, it’s an ideal light hike paired with tea culture tours.

The Maokong Gondola transports visitors from Taipei Zoo up to the mountain tea village of Maokong via Zhinan Temple, covering approximately 4.03 km in 20–30 minutes. Along the ride, you’ll pass through lush forest, sweeping valley views, and glimpses of downtown Taipei — iconic for “Taipei cable car rides” and scenic elevation changes. Opting for a Crystal Cabin provides a fully transparent floor experience. Once at Maokong Station, visitors can explore hillside teahouses, sip premium Tieguanyin tea, or visit Zhinan Temple for cultural sightseeing — ideal for families, tea lovers, and photographers.

Nestled in Shenkeng District, New Taipei City, Shenkeng Old Street stretches from Beishen Road to Pingpu Street and is famed for its charming red-brick shophouses and archways that evoke nostalgic Taiwanese architecture. Widely known as the “Tofu Capital” of Taiwan, its specialty is handcrafted tofu made with pure spring water and traditional brine, creating unique smoky flavors. This street is also renowned for its "Four Local Treasures" — tofu, bamboo shoots, black pork, and tea — all rooted in the area's rich heritage as a former tea and dye trade hub.

Nestled in the lush landscapes of Shenkeng, New Taipei, Paozilun Waterfall—also known as “Four Dragons Waterfall”—is a 15-meter cascading wonder worth the short hike. When water flow is high, four distinct streams emerge simultaneously from its cliff face. A well-maintained trail leads to the site in 10–15 minutes, where shaded platforms, benches, and even a basic changing area are available. It's a perfect spot for families seeking a gentle nature retreat, canyon-side SPA moments, or a refreshing break from urban life.
