Shiding God of Wealth Temple
Located in Shiding District, New Taipei City, the Shiding God of Wealth Temple is one of northern Taiwan’s most well-known destinations for those seeking prosperity and good fortune. The temple enshrines multiple deities, including the Five Gods of Wealth, Wenchang Dijun (God of Literature), and Guanyin Bodhisattva. Built into the mountainside, the temple combines a sense of majesty with a welcoming atmosphere. It is especially popular during Lunar New Year and major festivals, when visitors come to light blessing lamps and pray for financial success. A perfect blend of spirituality and local culture.

Shifen Waterfall is often called the “Niagara of Taiwan” for its wide curtain-like cascade. Located near Shifen Old Street, it’s easily accessible via scenic walking trails, making it a favorite stop for families and nature lovers.

Releasing sky lanterns in Shifen is a symbolic experience of hope and blessings. Visitors write their wishes on colorful lanterns and release them along the train tracks — a uniquely romantic and cultural activity on the Pingxi railway line.

Jiufen Old Street is a historic hillside town with Japanese-era architecture, red lanterns, and narrow cobbled alleys lined with food stalls and teahouses. It’s a top “Taiwan old-town experience,” especially magical at dusk when the lanterns light up the night.
