Then head into Yangmingshan National Park for a refreshing nature walk along the Erziping Trail.
In the afternoon, relax at Baisha Bay, one of the most scenic white-sand beaches on the coast. Continue to the majestic Jin-Gang Temple and the wave-carved Shimen Cave, where religion and nature converge. Itinerary Intro
A short stroll of about seven minutes from Tamsui MRT Station brings you to Tamsui Old Street — a charming pedestrian zone intertwining Zhongzheng, Chongjian, and Qingshui Streets alongside the riverside promenade. Known for local snacks like A‑Gei, iron eggs, fish balls, and shrimp rolls, as well as nostalgic cookie shops and trendy boutiques, this area is a must for “Taipei food street experiences.” At dusk, walk to the Golden Anchor waterfront to watch the sunset over the Tamsui River, blending street food exploration with romantic river views.

Fufuding Mountain Temple, known as the “Shell Temple” for its exterior decorated with seashells and coral, is a unique spiritual landmark along Taiwan’s North Coast. Dedicated to Mazu and sea deities, it’s a popular place for locals and travelers to offer blessings for peace, love, and success. With panoramic ocean views and intricate marine-themed architecture, it offers both cultural depth and serene moments during a coastal road trip.

Located in Shimen District, New Taipei, Shimen Cave (Shimen Sea Arch) is one of the most iconic coastal formations on Taiwan’s North Coast. Shaped over centuries by wave erosion, the arch offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, layered rocks, and tidal landscapes. A scenic boardwalk and lookout platforms allow for a relaxing coastal walk, especially photogenic during sunset or low tide when tidal pools and marine life are visible. This destination is perfect for families, photographers, and nature lovers exploring Taiwan’s scenic northern shoreline.

Nestled between Linyanbi and Fugui Cape in New Taipei’s Shimen District, Baishawan Beach—also known as White Sand Bay—is a gently curved, shell-rich coast spanning approximately 1 km. Its pristine sand and clear blue-green waters make it one of the most tranquil seaside spots in northern Taiwan. A shallow freshwater stream runs through the middle of the beach, creating a safe splash zone ideal for families. Sunbathing, swimming, windsurfing, and SUP are popular here, and the sunset views over the sea offer a serene end to any coastal day trip.
