Itinerary Intro
Miyahara Ophthalmology, established in 1927 by Japanese ophthalmologist Dr. Miyahara Takekuma, was once the largest eye clinic in Taichung during the Japanese rule. Following years of decay, the Dawn Cake Group revitalized the historic red‑brick building in 2010, preserving its facade and arcade while transforming its interior into a breathtaking confectionery boutique and ice‑cream parlor. Inside, antique medicine cabinets and drawers line the walls under a vaulted glass ceiling, creating a grand, library‑like ambiance likened to a Harry Potter fantasy setting.

Carton King Creativity Park, located in Taichung’s Dakeng area, is Taiwan’s sole theme park entirely centered on “paper.” The park is creatively built with cardboard—from art installations and seating to tableware and the themed restaurant. Attractions such as the paper train, mushroom house slides, aerial walkways, and sky bridges let visitors “travel the world on paper,” offering a unique mix of creativity, play, and photo-worthy fun.

The Xinshe Sea of Flowers, located in Taichung’s Xinshe District, is a celebrated floral destination in central Taiwan. Spanning rolling hills, the fields bloom with different seasonal flowers year-round—hydrangeas and lilies in spring, sunflowers and zinnias in summer, and cosmos, salvia, and marigolds in autumn and winter. Visitors can enjoy scenic walking paths, viewing platforms, and creative art installations perfect for photography. Local markets within the area offer fresh produce and potted flowers, allowing guests to take a piece of the floral beauty home.

Lavender Forest in Xinshe, Taichung is a whimsical garden retreat nestled in the hills—part open-air floral museum, part forest sanctuary. Covering approximately 8 hectares, it blooms with lavender in winter, hydrangeas in spring, and sage and daylilies in autumn. Instagram-loved features include a carousel, sky swing, wishing tree, Forest Café, herb market, and themed light installations. A ticket (NT$200) serves as credit for food or gifts, offering both beauty and value in one picturesque escape.
