Yehliu Geopark is Taiwan’s most iconic geological landscape, known for its wind- and sea-carved rock formations like the Queen’s Head and Princess Rock. It’s a must-see “northern Taiwan coastal attraction” for nature lovers, photographers, and geology enthusiasts.
The Queen’s Head is Yehliu’s most famous rock formation, resembling the elegant profile of a royal queen. Nearby, the newer Princess Rock adds a playful charm. Together, they create one of the most photographed “iconic duos” in Taiwan’s natural landmarks.
Shifen Waterfall is often called the “Niagara of Taiwan” for its wide curtain-like cascade. Located near Shifen Old Street, it’s easily accessible via scenic walking trails, making it a favorite stop for families and nature lovers.
Releasing sky lanterns in Shifen is a symbolic experience of hope and blessings. Visitors write their wishes on colorful lanterns and release them along the train tracks — a uniquely romantic and cultural activity on the Pingxi railway line.
